If you have been spending time with us lately you know that our eyes are turned to the summer and summer camps. In our district, there are now only 28 school days left and it was time for a family meeting to finalize our summer camp schedule. Sure the girls are out of school but there is still that little matter of work to be done. We also like to use the summer to give the girls opportunities to try activities which we may not have time for during a hectic school year. This year the girls are older and more focused on what they want to do instead of asking for every camp, they are asking for specific camps. This makes budgeting a whole lot easier and makes us happy knowing that our children have enjoyed and appreciated the summer camp experiences of the past. Our British Soccer Camp Experience

Each day of the week we started off early in morning dropping my daughter off at a local park to begin her day with soccer camp. On the first day the process for signing in with the camp went surprisingly smoothly. Teams and groups are formed, with boys and girls, based on age. Each day there were special challenges which were both team building as well as confidence building and skills. One thing I thought a little different was that many parents stayed for the entire two hours of the camp, instead of just dropping them off. The camp didn't mind so that's pretty cool that the parents can see what the coaches teach and they can practice those skills at home too. For full day campers, you would return in the evening, or you can just sign up for one session in the AM or one in the PM, as your schedule permits. I'm guessing this is done because of the incredibly hot middle of the day which may not be too healthy for the players or the coaches. Coaches were not only professionals in the care of the kids and communication with parents, but they truly are PROFESSIONAL soccer (football) players. I also liked that we had to sign the children each day and indicate who would be picking them up. We also had to sign them out. Each year it has been expertly run and she has learned a great deal. The camp includes basic to advanced skill training, team building activities, and sportsmanship in a positive manner. My daughter had a wonderful time at camp and not only learned new skills, but continued to master others. She became more confident about her abilities and continues to want to play the sport. Will we go back next year? Absolutely!
